The Dr. James Ford Historic Home, a restored 19th Century physician's home and surgery invites you to experience the daily lives, personalities, and activities of the Dr. James Ford family in the years before, during and just after the Civil War. Period decor and furnishings provide a look a what life may have been like in the mid-1800s. The home includes a Victorian-era flower garden, vegetable and medicinal herb gardens, and the stone barn where Dr. Ford's faithful stead, Barney, is located. Interactive displays and guided tours are offered to individuals and groups. Please call to arrange for group tours. News Closed January and February. Tours by Appointment. We will not be open during our regular hours in January and February, but we will provide tours by appointment. Please call to schedule! Upcoming Events Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 7pm "Tragedy at Pad 34: The Apollo 1 Fire" by Ray Boomhower. Thursday, April 15, 2010, 7pm "Characters of Wabash" presented by Pete Jones. What better way to spend tax day! Will our local historian have some tax evasion stories to tell? Come and find out! Both events are free to members and offered to the public for a $3 admission charge. Limited seating. Please call or email director@jamesfordmuseum.org to reserve your seat. Due to limited seating we ask that if you are unable to keep your reservation, please call so that we can offer it to others. Thank you!

Please make reservations at least two weeks in advance. For optimal learning, we recommend limiting groups to 50 visitors or less with one adult chaperone provided for every 10 students.
